Hi there! I've just realized how far behind I've gotten on my posts so we're doing some catch-up! Here's the last month from the more fun parts of my weeks: the weekends:)

Admittedly, now that the semester is coming to an end, my weekends are just extensions of the week where I give myself a bit more grace and let myself sleep in until 8:00 AM as opposed to 7:15 AM. I try to be productive and still get some notes and assignments done but occasionally mix in a fun activity.
But there has been evidence of fun weekends and I'll start there!
The last weekend I left you off with was March 2nd/3rd (oops) so let's start after that!
Also quick side note: thankfully I've been really good at using my planner/journal on my iPad so although I am looking back a LONG time to write this post, I've got all the info and photos I need:)
March 8/9/10
My last class finishes at noon on Friday so I basically get a long weekend every week! And I use that to the fullest!! This weekend was a wholesome one full of self-care, outdoor activities and a little bit of school too, for good measure.
On Friday, I had a group presentation about activated sludge and fixed film water treatment processes (how exciting!) then I celebrated being done that with a facial!

The Saturday I really wanted to soak up the last bit of the Norwegian winter and I went skating at a cute outdoor rink with a new Norwegian friend, Tina!

The Sunday, the outdoor activities continued and I went for a hike with two girls from my program, Kalani and Anagha. I've been hiking with Kalani before and we planned a nice 8km hike up a small ski hill to see a really nice view of the Trondheim Fjord. However, what we didn't realize is that Anagha had never been on any sort of hike before and was not fully confident about walking in the snow especially not the slippery uphill parts. I gave her my pair of spikes but it still wasn't a "beginner-friendly" route so we changed it up and instead walked around a pretty lake. Giving up my spikes wasn't the best idea as I fell twice and have the bruised knees and hips to prove it!

March 16/17
This weekend I was helping out my student association (NJORD) at the Norway Seafood Festival! It was a little quirky and fun!

The Norway Seafood Festival is hosted at this beautiful hotel right at the water and brings in a bunch of Norwegian seafood companies, chefs and other industries interested in seafood together once a year! It’s a pretty big event with celebrity chefs, a bunch of really cool kids' activities and samples! There was a ball pit, touch tanks, fish that the kids could poke and prod, cool colouring sheets and more but I was a little bit too old to hang out in that section :(

My jobs were pretty easy, helping to clean up empty glasses, selling coins and just floating around to help out! In the end, the big task was tearing down an entire festival which has so many more moving parts than I had ever thought about.

Not too bad of a way to spend a weekend in Trondheim! There were some slow parts so I practiced my coin sculpture skills (see above) and I even learned some more customer service in Norwegian. So here’s your Norwegian lesson for the day:
Thank you: Takk
Thank you very much: Tusen takk
You’re welcome: Bare hygellig (more formal) or værsågod
Where is the bathroom?: Hvor er toalettet?
It’s over there: det er der borte
And that's all I got!
Side note: James's sister made me these cool earrings and I got a lot of compliments on them (oh I also learned that earring in Norwegian is ørering)!

March 23/24
This one was in Halifax! More on that later!!
March 30/31
This one I was in then leaving Halifax :( More on that later!!
April 4/5/6/7
This one I'm considering a long weekend!!
The Thursday night, it was the NJORD board handover party! We had a dinner of tapas while dressed in "black tie" attire and played lots of fun drinking games! It was a late night but lots of fun bonding!
The Friday morning, I had a quick class then the NJORD board met again to clean our office! The perfect hangover combination!
The Saturday, I met my friend Loona, and we walked around the cutesy neighbourhood of Bakklandet and had coffee with her roommate Maria!

We didn't want our day to end so we went next door to have a beer and a chocolate chip cookie while sitting in the sun on the patio! Her friend Giorgia met us and we ended up playing a board game and staying a while!

The Sunday I met up with Loona and Giorgia again, and we had dinner at the Egon Tower! There is a student pizza buffet deal on Sundays and beautiful views!!

April 13/14
And now we're already caught up!
This Saturday, I spent the morning getting caught up on some notes at a cute cafe in Solsiden. In the afternoon I played some tennis and relaxed for the rest of the day!

Today, I went to an early morning Tabata class, spent the of rest the day getting work done, doing laundry, cleaning my apartment, and setting myself up for a busy week!
