Hi there! This week is Halloween, All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day, AND Bridge Day!! What a week! And that means l only have a two day week!!

Even better, both days are filled with guest lectures!! We had Dr. Jorge Galindo-Villegas talk to us about fish immunology and Dr. Stephanie De Vos, who is a genome sequencing/assembly consultant!! Both really cool people with really cool professional accomplishments.

This marked the official end of my first set of classes; aquaculture genetics and fish & shellfish immunology…. Well until I write my exams in January…. After learning 6 more courses worth of content… what a system.
Not having class on Wednesday meant I could go out on Halloween so I went out with my friend Mary from Virginia! We started at a Jazz club then went to a party that she heard about from a guy she met at the laundromat… super random and even more random this party was at a used bookstore/cafe/bar.

But it was super fun!! The DJ even played typically hockey songs, but here, apparently they’re anthems for their football teams, weird! We talked to lots of random and super nice Belgians, danced, and did our best to sing Dutch songs!!
On the way there, we ran into some girls that asked us if we want to tag something on Graffiti street so we added a nice little heart!! (Don’t worry, this is legal and encouraged).

For the rest of the week, I’m flying to Dublin for a couple nights, then catching up on all of my work before heading into new classes!
