Hi there!! I know I kept you on your toes about what I've been up to and why I've been so busy this week! Well here's why: school (actual school) started! Crazy! It feels like it's been a long time coming!!

But before we get to that, let's quickly talk about a day where I was super happy, not stressed about writing notes and making it to class on time: the day before school started.

Date: Sunday, September 24, 2023

This, believe it or not, was my first Sunday in Ghent! All other Sundays I've been travelling and out of the city or country!! But a magical thing happens in Ghent every Sunday: A FLOWER MARKET!!! And not only a flower market but this Sunday was the last day of the season that the band would be playing at the flower market!! And to make things even more magical (if you believe that that could even happen), it was a beautiful sunny (fall) day!! So of course I went to the flower market!

I walked into the city centre, which was about a 20-minute walk. I bought myself some pretty flowers, listened to the band and soaked up ALL of the sun. This was the absolute perfect Sunday morning.

Date: Monday, September 25, 2023

Today is the first day of my Master's program! Quite possibly the very last "first" day of school I will ever have. Ever again. Woah that makes me feel old. Here is my first day of school photo:) Just for you mom:)

Today, I had 3 classes: Aquaculture Genetics, Fish & Shellfish Immunology, & Applied Statistics! So far, I really like Genetics, Immunology is A LOT of information coming at us REALLY fast, and statistics is really easy. So not a bad first day!

Date: Tuesday-Friday, September 26-29, 2023

After the first day of school, the second, third, fourth and fifth days of school are kind of just repetitive... but this is what my class schedule has looked like this week!

Here's what one of my breakfasts looked like! (It's a Belgian waffle!!)

Wednesday and Friday this week I only had 1 class so that was super nice!! I went on walks every day to get my steps in after sitting in long classes and here's what one of the walks looked like!!

Wednesday night, James and I had a virtual date, with online board games & a movie. A very nice night:)

My classes are very early in the morning! Like before the sun comes up!! But here's what one of the skies looked like in the morning!

This weekend, I'm heading to Munich for the last weekend of Oktoberfest, so get ready for that blog post!

The first week of my master's is done!! That is a crazy sentence for me to be typing!
