Hi there! The Portuguese adventure continues in the southern, sleepy little surf town of Lagos.

Administrative note: I think my email notifications haven’t been working when I post from my phone, and I think I’ve fixed it now… we’ll see… but if you do get the notification for this post, I’ve posted twice before this, so go read those too!

But back to the regular scheduled programming!!

Georgia and I took a quick 4-hour FlixBus from

Lisbon to Lagos that had beautiful scenery for the whole way! Or at least it was beautiful every time I looked up from writing my previous blog post.

Unfortunately, upon arrival, our AirBnb was not quite ready yet so with our bags on our backs (some of which that were quite heavy), we walked along the water to the fort, along the beaches, up to the old city walls, and then through the old streets.

When we finally could check-in, we quickly dropped off our stuff and changed, then headed out for another walk to see the famous cliffs for sunset.

The whole boardwalk along Ponta de Piedade was stunning, every path had a different view and each one just got more and more beautiful.

The sunset was one for the books. Kimberley check these out!!

When the sun had set and the sky began to get dark, we walked back into the city for some dinner and sparkling sangria.

We thought we might go to a bar for another drink but we were getting the feeling that the age demographic here is not that of going out to the bars… Lagos in February seems to be a common snowbird destination and I would approximate the average age here to be a solid 65-70.

The next morning we completely bought into the slower lifestyle. Consider us snowbirds. We started with a delicious brunch, coffee and green juice before walking along the marina. We could totally get used to life like this, if anyone knows how to financially be able to become a snowbird at 23, let me know.

It was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to take a boat tour to see the cliffs from the waterside. This turned out to be a little bit like a safari because we got to see cliffs/rocks shaped like camels, elephants, dolphins, pigs, pirates, and as a bonus, the Titanic collision scene!

We spent the rest of our afternoon bopping around some artisan stores in the old city and ended up meeting some really nice shop owners, one of which that made us customized matching rings!!

After a day of soaking up the sun and relaxing, we got on our next FlixBus and now we're leaving the Atlantic once again and we’re on our way to Spain.
