Hi there! Picking up right where we left off: the sketchy Hamburg bus terminal and train station! Keep your eyes on your wallets and a tight grip on your bags!

We made it from the station to the safety of our hotel and headed out for sushi for dinner (I told you it would be a theme). We then planned out what we were going to do in Hamburg, a task typically performed before arriving in a city but we like to be spontaneous. We also knew that the next day we would be leaving for Bremen so we booked our train tickets at the same time which would determine how much time we had in the city. We even got ahead of ourselves in planning and booked the bus from Bremen to Amsterdam that we would be taking the following day, look at us go!

We enjoyed our spicy salmon rolls and tuna rolls then had an early night in the hotel watching Game of Thrones.

The next morning we got up early and had a grocery store breakfast before heading into the city and the port!

The first stop was the International Maritime Museum which was another massive museum but this time (thankfully) much more organized. Our favourite thing was this Lego replica of the Queen Mary 2 made of 780,000 pieces of Lego and 1,200 hours of construction. There were also miniature replicas of just about every boat on Earth and exhibits on deep-sea mining, ocean exploration, war, art, the list goes on!

Corey, if you're reading this, I think this place might be your personal heaven.

We gave ourselves a limited amount of time in the museum and then walked around the historic port. It was lots of red brick, spiral staircases, canals, and cranes!

We saw some more beautiful architecture like the Town Hall, St. Nikolai Memorial, and the crown jewel of Hamburg: the Hard Rock Cafe.

In all seriousness, James did make us go to the Hard Rock Cafe because he had never been to one before and I can safely say that it will be the last one he goes to. They did have a nice rooftop patio but other than that, it was nothing special and everything was very expensive. While we were there we were googling why people are so obsessed with the place because we felt like we might be missing something but we really don't get it.

We only spent a short time in Hamburg so it only gets a short blog post, on to Bremen!
