Hi there! I am posting this sitting at gate 12 at the Halifax Airport waiting for my flight with some tears in my eyes. It's absolutely insane to think that it's time to go, it's so crazy to think how fast this summer went by but really how fast my last 4 years in Halifax went by. This past week I've packed up all my possessions, sorting them into things I need for the next 2 years and things I don't, which I am obviously not very good at as the bag I'm flying home with is 29kg and I had to pay for an overweight bag🥲. This week I've also had to say some sad goodbyes with some tearful hugs. I am so so excited to be going but so so sad to be leaving.

Because it's the last time I'll be in Halifax for at least a little while, I've compiled a very broad list of my favourite memories & things to do in Halifax.

1. Parks, beaches and hiking trails. Especially this summer I've realized I'm a person that needs to be around trees and there are some good spots close to the city. For hikes, my personal favourites have been some trails around Long Lake, Mcintosh Run Regional Park and Blue Mountain Wilderness Area. I just recently went to Sir Sanford Fleming Park & Frog Pond Park for the first time and it is so nice! Even closer to my house were the public gardens and the commons, which are both charming and I've made some unforgettable memories there.

2. Yummy meals. Halifax has some really nice restaurants, I will definitely be missing the food. Five Fisherman is really yummy and fancy, Studio East has really tasty dishes, and Garden has very aesthetic brunches.

3. Driving around Nova Scotia. It really is the most beautiful province. Cape Breton is stunning, Big Island is amazing, Peggy's Cove is a classic Nova Scotia staple, Keji is great, around Wolfville and the wineries are lovely. I'm running out of synonyms... But just a bit further away from Halifax I went on some fun road trips with friends to PEI and to Boston and those are places to see too!!

4. House Christmas dinners. My university house would go all out to celebrate Christmas together before we would fly home to see our families and these are some of the most special memories for me.

5. Not a thing to do or a place to see but when making this list I've realized that it's not the location but the people I've met there. My time in Halifax would not have been the same without my friends and family that I have here. Some of them I have to say goodbye to for now but I really have to thank them for the memories.

Ok, now I feel like I've gotten side track, forgotten what I was writing about and I'm getting emotional. To sum it up, Nova Scotia is absolutely beautiful and holds so many memories in my heart, so I will most definitely be back soon. So the sad goodbyes to my university house, my best friends, my brother & sister-in-law, my hockey team, etc. are really not "goodbyes", just "see you soons".

Sorry I'm getting cheesy, I'm getting emotional so I need to post this before I cry again!

Here's a picture of one of my sad goodbyes, only one of us cried but I'm going to tell myself that that's only because dogs don't have tear ducts (they actually do but just let me have that).
