Hi there! Coming at you with two posts at once! Last week and this week were crazy busy and the semester is already coming to an end! So let's recap!

Monday, April 15th & Tuesday, April 16th

The week started off busy with the final days of our Fish Health & Welfare seminars! All day Monday & Tuesday we learned about new technologies for monitoring fish welfare and the importance of high-quality feeding regimes!

Wednesday, April 17th

We are continuing to complete classes as this was our last working day for Experts in Teamwork! This day we spent the whole day writing our process report, which is the most painfully long (35 pages!) reflection you could imagine.

Thursday, April 18th & Friday, April 19th

We finished off the busy week by being even busier and we went on a field trip to the island of Frøya! But this deserves its own blog post so go read that one!

Saturday, April 20th

After a morning of relaxing and getting some much-needed sleep, I went and played tennis then hosted a seafood dinner with the NJORD board!

It was a really nice dinner with lots of seafood (yay...)

I've decided that I don't hate seafood as much as I once thought that I did... Sushi, as it turns out is actually pretty bearable! Unbearable, however, is smoked salmon (yucky texture) and crab tartar (most definitely not for me). The lobster platter is also served with scrambled eggs and something about that freaks me out. The little shrimps are pretty okay and I do really like mussels! Overall I'd say a solid 5.3/10 on the seafood! But I am willing to give sushi a real attempt.

We all took our champagne to the roof to watch the sunset!

Sunday, April 21st

Now it was time to catch up on all the work that got neglected over the week and prepare for the coming week. I started my morning with a 4km run to the only coffee shop that's open on Sundays but it was pretty good!

The rest of the morning was spent at my desk but in the afternoon I decided that was enough for today.

I went with some of my friends to "Cava Sunday". This is a weekly event where Norwegians go to a cute bar street down by the water and get hammered by 4 PM on cheap wine. It was a beautiful day so it was packed but it was a really fun thing to witness!! We hung out at one of the busy bars for a glass of wine then moved to the patio next door.

The people watching was incredible and sitting on a patio in the sunshine was so nice!!

Tuesday, April 23rd

Skipping Monday, Tuesday was another completion day! We had our last Environmental Biotechnology class and learned about some wastewater treatment plants in Norway! We are going to tour one next Tuesday, so that should be cool! Not sure how that really ties into fish and aquaculture but sure, I'm always up for a field trip!!

Wednesday, April 24th

The LAST day of Experts in Teamwork!! Wooohoo!! Thank goodness! Today, we had our final presentation/oral exam which counts for 50% of our grade. A little nerve-wracking, but I am very glad it's done now! We presented our poster, interviews and research about deep-sea mining and most importantly, wrote the last reflection we will ever have to!

Thursday, April 25th

Thursday continued with another oral exam, this time for my Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) class. We had to design and dimension a farm for anywhere in the world with any species so we designed ARK RAS, cultivating Rainbow Trout in Wyevale, Ontario. The presentation went super well and the professor was really pleased with our work!

Friday, April 26th

Friday was finally a day to relax! Well kind of, I accidentally broke my phone earlier this week so I tried to get it fixed, but it was too broken😓 I also sent in all of my documents for starting work in Ontario and made my study plan for the next three weeks!

The final countdown is on!

All I have left is 1 report to hand in, 1 oral exam, and 2 written exams! I'll be home in 3 weeks! CRAZY!
