Hi there! Would you look at that? Hearing from me twice in two days?!? Goodness, you're going to get sick of me!

But as promised, you'll be hearing from me more frequently:)

Today, I travelled for the first time in what feels like forever! Now, it wasn't crazy far but I've been feeling a little claustrophobic in Gent and missing out on the magical Christmas spirit so I hopped on a 2.5-hour train ride to supposedly one of the best Christmas markets in Western Europe. Where is this magical place you ask? Well, it's the same German city that Kimmy and I got stuck in when I first arrived: Aachen. I was determined to have a better experience here than that time and boy did I!

Like I said before, Aachen is only 2.5 hours away so I spent my morning in Gent studying for my exams. I went on a walk to get coffee and let me tell you, Gent was not magical with Christmas spirit. It was rainy and windy and grey. But I had hope for the rest of the day:)

In the afternoon I hopped on the train, and even did some work this time!! Talk about efficiency!

Sadly the weather did not become magical by travelling to Germany. It was still rainy and cold and windy but they were pretty Christmas lights so it felt warmer!!

And luckily, the Christmas market was just as magical as I'd hoped it be:) (the mulled wine made it even more magical). I spent a couple of hours walking around all the booths and shops and little restaurants soaking in all the Christmas magic:)

Right beside the Christmas market was the Aachen Cathedral so I went and it was the prettiest decorated church I've seen! Just look at the tiling detail on the roof!

After eating the very healthy cuisine of a German sausage and Reibekuchen (potato pancakes). I hopped back on my train towards Gent. Kind of crazy that I can hop on a train to Germany for dinner and Christmas spirit:))

Now I'm heading home and going to watch a Christmas movie nestled in bed while visions of sugar plums dance in my head! Goodnight!
